The floral shop owner let me have this urn and the oval pot below. They are so beautiful, heavy and crackled. It took some thinking to get them filled, it was time to look outside the orchids and topiary and come up with something great, but different... We are experiencing arctic temperatures here and walking the length of the greenhouse at Cactus and tropicals was just like a balm. After choosing this diminutive rose bush and two freesia plants I let the attendant stage them, and went out on some errands. It's magical coming back and seeing them ready to go home. It's always this same feeling: "Really! you're coming with me? Great!"
The freesias smell heavenly, much like jasmines or gardenias but with lighter notes, this must be the scent of happiness, or is it new baby's head? I can't remember...
The silver plated vegetable server is Tudor Oneida Community, found/thrifted last week. It's an english design as a French serving dish would have a round knob/handle on the top of the lid. Regardless I think it's lovely, heavy just like my new pots but not crackled of course.
A little note to let everyone know that links have been added to the blogroll at the right. Most of those I just discovered and hope they will take you somewhere new and wonderful.

The flowers look wonderful...I love the pots.
