odds and ends in a pewter vase

 

I bought this vase at an antique fair in Bourges, France years ago while accompanying my aunt A. I remember really liking the anemone motif, but it was so intimidating making a purchase in the presence of the antiquing queen/ master Jedi... She offered no more advice than: "make sure it doesn't have a hole". Art Nouveau is not her thing I think as she probably thinks of that period as "vintage" as opposed to let's say XVII or XVIII century French which is more her alley ( extremely lovely) and completely above my pay grade! Never mind that, I enjoy the vase on and off and I think it's the first time I have put flowers in it. They are odds and ends destined for the trash the shop owner let me have for my "homework". I think the lilly buds will actually open which is an unexpected plus...
