A while ago I knitted a small cardigan in this beautiful Shibui Knits kid merino, a mohair-merino blend. Sadly it turned out too small. I find that with these larger projects it's either too big or too small, never right, hence the many gloves and hats knit instead...
After this latest disappointment I was left with a large mass of curly yarn, much like the hair of an Irish pixie or a very misguided Rapunzel, you choose. What to do, what to do?
Well, after preparing the balls of yarn as if to dye and soaking them overnight in syntrapol they came back to life and their former smooth self. This process was much less time consuming than expected and I would not mind trying again with a thrifted sweater for example. The yarn in skeins in the picture above is the final result and is already being re knitted into a pair of fingerless mittens.

Very interesting! Did you know it would do that or was it a happy accident?
