After years of quilting without any major injuries besides a sore back I have ran out of luck:
That's four stitches on my index finger... did you know they can sew right through your finger nail? I didn't. Super gross I know! Should I mention that I haven't worn nail polish in month, at least I wasn't embarrassed by the sad state on my nails when bleeding all over, that counts for something, it really does!

Ouch!!! I know your pain, I stepped on a pin cushion full of pins the other day.

You needed stitches for sewing into your finger? I thought you had sliced it with your rotary cutter. Yucky! Are you able to function? I guess the good news is that you don't have to do dishes or give Finn a bath for a while. Enjoy the break!

Ouch!! Oh the plus side, I looked at the photo and my first thought was "Ohh! Her nails look great!" I didn't even notice the stitches :)

Ouch!
Your nail polish matches the stitches so well. Hope it is healing well.

I've sewn through my finger before too, while feverishly finishing a dress for a wedding the day of, though I thankfully didn't need stitches. Get better!

Hi Kaitlin,
I actually sliced my finger with a rotary cutter, sewing through it sounds just as horrible!

Gosh! I know what that is like... My daughters (10 and 11) were cutting some fabric for a quilt they were working on last summer and one of them ended up having to get 3 stitches (they didn't sew the nail for some reason)... Needless to say, I fainted when I saw her little finger open (never mind!). The Dad (which never takes them to the doctors and such) had to take her to the hospital to get stitched up I was out for a TAD. Either of them ever wanted to cut again. But since the fabric has been CALLING out to them, they finally started to cut again recently (but with a HANDLE on the ruler so that this type of accident does not happen again). :) Hugs from Portugal.
