I recently learned something fantastic. When I write the word fantastic I want you to hear the voice of Meryl Streep in The Fantastic Mr Fox saying it, it can't be helped. Back on track, D. my weaving teacher imparted on me the great knowledge of the Dummy Warp. It's not what it sounds like, it's really very smart. What you do is instead of spending the better part of a week wounding your warp ends and then threading them one by one through the reed and the heddles you simply tie a new warp to the old with a super nifty weaver's knot. It's incredibly fast since I started weaving another rug the same day I started knotting, while tending Finn and his little friend E. Having never before attempted to use lease-sticks (don't ask), to knot like a weaver or for that matter watched two kids at once for a all day! What productivity! with little or no yelling... I tell you, I think it was the day Finn started taking me seriously.
The warp is blue (sea spray) cotton ease from Lion Brand. I have fallen in love with this product. The colors are simply amazing and the yarn is very strong with a nice smooth texture. It's very grabby of the weft (cascade ecological) and I have very worried that I won't have enough weft yarn at all to finish this...
wow wow wow, you are the most talented lady ever :)
