I am currently working on two new patterns for the Sewing Republic, and choosing some fabric from my stash might be the most satisfying part. Take a look:

Looking at the swatches motivates me. I never though of it before but it makes old fabric look new again, which is good because I don't think I am going to buy very much new fabric this year. I feel a little too much like Atlas carrying the weight of the sky/my stash on my shoulder, and it's really heavy! Also, I think the new fabric collections are mostly boring, but that's another topic...

I haven't liked any of the new fabric lines yet either. There were a bunch of lines I loved (and bought) in 2009. I probably should finish all of my WIPs with that fabric anyway. :)

Very pretty selections. I love using stash fabric because I tell myself the project is then free!

Ooohhh! I love your fabric choices! What is the floral one for the makeup brushes called?

I really like the oranges! You're so right about cutting swatches giving fabrics a new lease of life too - I just find that I'm sometimes too mean to sacrifice even a small fragment of fabric to a swatch!

I am not sure if the pink fabric had a name. It's an older Alexander Henry that I had the good fortune to stumble upon at Joann.
