What fun! A coin quilt's been on my list for some time, so this might just give me the motivation I need to get started! Thanks!

Lisa

Oh those are beautiful! I've been thinking about starting a quilt, just don't know what kind yet. This doesn't look too complicated though.. thinking.. :)

Bridget

Fantastic! I am part way through what I think of as a coin quilt, and this will be great motivation to see it through to finish!

Thanks heaps!

jacquie

i'm in! i've got one started..but maybe this will be the motivation to finish! thanks!

Viv

I'm in too. I've been thinking about making one of these for a while now, and I can use all my small pieces of fabric :-)

Harley

A coin quilt was on my list of things to do this year, it's nice to get to make it along with some other gals! :D

Shannon

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I made one for my husband last year but I'd love some incentive to make more!

Lisa

Hey! This is what I was trying to do with leftovers from my Eclipse Quilt. . . http://somethingcleveraboutnothing.blogspot.com/2008/12/cats-like-it.html

I stitched together a bunch of long strips of the leftover pieces and haven't been able to find a fabric that I like for inbetween yet. I'll have to take them into work and look for something now that I have a reason to finish it!

I was so excited when I saw this because I am currently working on a twin size one for my 10 year old daughter. I'm almost done with the quilt top and am comtemplating trying to quilt it myself. SCARY! (Obviously haven't done it before!) Here is a link to how my quilt is coming along. http://daffodilhilltoo.blogspot.com/2009/02/progress.html

Kelly

I'm very inspired by both you and Karen. I have never made a quilt, but I feel like this might be a good one to start with. I really want one to add color into my bedroom and this is just the style I would like. Yay!

Thanks for the push!

Concha

Ths is a wonderful idea! I am very tempted to participate, although I have never made a singçle quilt in my life...

kangaroo

Funny, I've been thinking about this for my king sized quilt anyway, rather than the improv quilt. Or maybe it can serve both purposes! I'll do my best to join you.

Amy

How fun! (Now I need to search for my "chinese coins" scraps...) Those got packed away while I was getting ready for my babies arrival...

What a great idea. The coin quilt is on my project list for this year. Maybe if I hop on board it will motivate me to get it done.

:)

Debbie Johnson

I'm in. Let me go look at my stash and find the perfect selection.

Carrie

Great idea and motivation. I made the Last Minute coin quilt last year and I love it. I cut the number of strips according the the directions and had more than enough to make another small Denyse Schmidt-style strip quilt afterwards.

Mushyhed

Count me in! I love making coin quilts!

sandy

I love "stacked" coins. I'm not going to join as I've just finished two (2). Quilted them on the frame at the same time too. The "stacked" coins make wonderful quilts .... almost like I Spy quilts.

Good luck and happy sewing "stacked" coins.

sandy

Almost forgot.

Did you see the one Lisa Boyer did recently

Lisa

This sounds fun. Add me too!

Jenni

julie

thanks julie

Me too! I'm trying to find something I can do for my boys. Boyish charm packs are hard to come by.

Amanda @ www.kiddio.org

Oh, yes, I'm in! I stocked up on charm packs a couple of years ago and have been stuck with what to do with them! Fantastic idea :)

Simon

Nice to see this about the coin quilt - I am working on one for my dear friend, I had it all cut up ready to sew a couple of weeks ago and have since finished joining 171 5.5 inch sides (in 4 days sewing and that is not my fulltime job) - please someone slap me - something possessed me and I am sewing the thing by hand... heading for 72x72 inches.

I was having a grumpy day with the machine on the day - that was not the machines fault either... so just it kind of happened - have sewn all the coins and about to start on strips so drop by in a couple of days to see the progress... and some daylight for photos.

Jenny

Oh, I'm in!! :) Love the button too.

Jenny

Me again... i have a typepad blog jennygarland.com but cannot figure out how to add your button!!! Please help! I really want to display it :) THANKS! You can email me at [email protected].

Pam

I hear my name being called to a coin quilt! Maybe it's a stimulus quilt...HA...pleae count ...HA...me in!! Love that Last Minute book and this will get me going on using it! Thanks, Pam

Jeanine

I'm a little late... But I'm going to jump on the bandwagon

aneela

I love this idea. I've had Joelle's book a while now and have yet to make any thing out of it! Cannot wait to get started and watch how everyone else progresses at the same time.

edith

What a great idea, I have been eyeing many coin quilts and have wanted to do one soon. this is great motivation! I'm going to add the cute button and get started.

Pam

I would love to join. Thanks! Can you please tell me how to add the button to my blog? I tried but it just won't do it. I think I will use Kaffe fabrics as I have lots of scraps I cannot bear to toss out.

Cheryl

OK, I've been trying to decide on a pattern for a baby quilt for my expectant niece. She's having a girl, and I thought that I would use some pinks from my stash. This would be perfect! I'm in!

Melissa

I'm in, I'm going to do a cross between Moda's one and the one in Last minute patchwork.

I've had fabric sitting here for a quilt for ages and this is the push I need.

ann Jones

Hello! Have just found your Blog and would love to join in ! Promised myself a 'coins' quilt this year and no better way to do it than in good company!.......Luv AJ

Helen

I'm in! I've looked at the coin quilt in Last Minute Patchwork gifts many times and thought about making one, so now I'm taking the plunge!

Cherry

I might have to join in late... I have just finished a coin quilt for my daughter but am starting a chinese coin quilt for my son soon and have been looking at the gorgeous creations from this group for inspiration! They are gorgeous.
